Hóka LSE

The Hóka Equestrian Sports Association (Hóka LSE) enriches the diverse and valuable palette of equestrian sports through its activities and objectives. The primary motivation behind the establishment of the association was to create conditions for quality equestrian sports. However, its activities extend beyond this primary goal, encompassing a range of areas including:

  • Therapeutic Use of Equestrian Sports: Leveraging horseback riding as a therapeutic tool to assist disadvantaged children and address issues such as drug problems.

  • Mass Sports, Social Activism, and Community Life: Engaging the community through sports and creating an active social environment.

  • International Sports Relationships: Developing and maintaining international relationships within the equestrian sports community.

  • Promotion of Equestrian Sports: Organizing events to promote equestrian sports to a wider audience.

The association has hosted successful events over the years, such as a Family Day in 2016 that saw the active participation of nearly 110 families, with 93 children under fourteen showcasing their riding skills. The event was supported by over 20 volunteers, and a video report is available on the association’s Facebook page.

In 2017, a highly successful riding license exam was organized, marking a notable achievement in terms of participation rates nationwide.

Since its establishment in 2016, the association has seen significant achievements in competitive equestrian sports, including having its athletes recognized among the top competitors in Hungary and improving its standing significantly in national rankings.

The association aims to address fundamental social needs inspired by the desire for a healthy lifestyle and the practice of leisure sports as outlined in the Hungarian sports law. This includes supporting children and youth sports, as well as sports for individuals with disabilities. The demand for riding lessons for children under fourteen is growing, highlighting the need for more qualified instructors and facilities capable of providing quality pony riding lessons.

The association’s contribution to solving these issues includes employing certified equestrian instructors, maintaining reliable ponies for lessons, and supporting the sports of disabled individuals through specialized training and facilities. The social impact of these efforts is significant, providing more children and individuals with disabilities access to equestrian sports, thereby promoting a healthier lifestyle and offering solutions to societal problems such as drug prevention.

In summary, the Hóka LSE plays a crucial role in the Hungarian equestrian community, not only by fostering competitive sports but also by using equestrian activities as a means of social and therapeutic intervention, thereby addressing a broad spectrum of societal needs.
